Is this still a a concept ..or can we see something like this as in reality. We have heard so many accidents due do "drunk and drive" issues. I personally think this is an essential feature and not an luxury.

HI...IM NARESH KUMAR..........A MECHANICAL STUDENT.......I WAS INTERESTED IN READING ABOUT THE ALCOHOL SENSORS....I SUGGEST THAT THESE SENSORS CAN BE GIVEN ANTI-CAR-STARTING FUNCTION TO PREVENT DRUNK AND DRIVE DEATHS.

Love the concept! it helps us commuters to prevent any car accidents whenever the drivers are drunk... though this is just a concept but I hope that this will be implemented soon.

they're going to loose in car sales a lot lol. Not sure anyone knowing of his own *habit* of drunk driving would ever be excited of such a feature in his new car lol, but seriously this is a good thing, I would aquire such a car easily, as I surely know I will never go driving under influence, but just in case I ever try to do so, or, for example, my child would try, this thing would surely prevent car crash and even possibly human death.

Well in this case I can only hope all the cars will adopt the concept, this we the DUI problem will be long gone.

Nissan is gonna lose a lot because of this thing. Who they think will buy their cars if they won`t start because they detected that the driver have taken one or two beers on board before he grabbed to the wheel? Everybody at least once in their life have driven drunk.

I think this is the first step in the right direction :)

That is a crazy cool piece of technology! I am concerned however that it might not be enough of a deterrent however. People just seem to find a way to drive drunk if they don't have the proper motivation to do otherwise. That is why the support of family and friends is really the best way to keep someone from getting behind the wheel while they are drunk.

I totally agree - when it comes to teenagers, this device could literally be a life-saver! With a minor, you don't have to worry about the types of civil rights issues that may come up with a product along these lines.
